”I am RISING by taking advantage of each and every opportunity that I encounter, whether it be at work shifting roles for my company, or figuring out how to keep a team together when having to coach ultimate virtually.

"Using my background in architecture, I work for a general contractor to coordinate buildings and their internal systems before the construction starts. However, as the need opened in my company to fill a role in the field, I shifted gears from working almost entirely behind a screen to working full time on a jobsite.

"Every day presents new challenges as I work to provide all the contractors with the right information to build the building and coordinate with the architects and owners to ensure the construction meets design intent.

"Sometimes I even get to put on a harness myself if there’s a task to be done to meet our project schedule - you never know what that day may have in store!

"This fall season took me into my third year as coach for Boston University Womxn’s Uprising. We were faced with the challenge of holding our ultimate frisbee season entirely virtually for the first 7 weeks before the university permitted in-person practices.

"This took so much dedication from the team to sustain a culture, let alone maintain a solid core of rookies AND learn a few skills of the game. Each week we met via Zoom, got to know our new players, and focused on a few simple concepts with film clips to keep the team spirit alive.

"Despite the limited time we had on the field together, I’m so proud of the development I saw in this team through such a difficult semester!"
