An experienced cutter out of Andover, MA, Westgate is known for consistent on-field production, adapting to fit game needs, and a quick trigger on creative throws to advance the disc.
Named by teammates as “the person you always want to be standing next to in warmups,” the 5’5” cutter is an alum of University of Wisconsin Bella Donna Ultimate and Heist Ultimate (WI), Boston Brute Squad (MA), and Slow White (MA). Outside of ultimate, Rachael teaches elementary English language learners.
"As an English Language Learner teacher, the ongoing movement for racial equity is an integral part to my students' success. Through discussion and collaboration with my co-workers, I hope to change how we educate our children about identity and how we reflect on racism in schools.
"Outside of my work and personal education, I try to spend my time outside enjoying the remaining fall warmth. No matter the weather, I get outside to go walking, running, biking, or rollerblading. I have noticed that I am much happier once I am moving. Portland Rising continues to encourage me to workout and keep my mental health strong through staying physically fit."
