In 2019, Xiao was a Callahan finalist with Columbia University, won Club Nationals with Brute Squad, and won gold with Team USA at the U24 World Championships in Germany.

At the club level, she’s also played for AMP (PA), Green Means Go (PA), and Last Call (NY). Off the field, Yuge is a life sciences consultant.

“As a life sciences consultant, I’ve been very fortunate to be able to work from home. In some ways, I’ve actually gotten to know some of my co-workers and managers better, because of the little things that inevitably intrude upon the video conference calls (i.e. screaming toddlers). However, it’s become harder and harder to draw lines between work time and home time.

“So since the start of social distancing and WFH, rising to me has been channeling the silly and weird parts of me, being my strangely optimistic self through the uncertainty. That can be wearing my onesie to “work”, taking dance / fitness challenge breaks, or engaging in some strange social media phenomenon.

“I understand that I come from a very fortunate and privileged perspective. I also understand that this period means a lot of different things to everyone. For me, it’s taking every day one boogie woogie at a time.”
