Maine's first professional women's and non-binary sports team is gearing up for its first game of the 2022 season on Saturday. Portland Rising joined the Premier Ultimate League in 2020, but their ultimate-frisbee experience started a little rocky because of the pandemic.

"It's very exciting. We have a bigger fan base than people realize here in Maine and we're hoping that will only grow once we have a full season this year and people have been working hard and training hard and we're excited to showcase the talent that exists here in Maine,” said Mohdis Baker, the general manager of Portland Rising.
